What we Say, or What we Do?

Does it matter who shines the light of “good news”?

A retired pastor I’ve known for many years wrote me in response to my weekly newspaper column.  He and I have our differences of beliefs, but our feelings and thoughts about social issues are very similar.

I was humbled by the words he wrote:

“Someone said, ‘Every Christian is called to proclaim the gospel, sometimes even using words.’  More important what we do rather than what we say.  You are a living example of that.”

I joked in my reply that he was revealing his heresy suggesting that I was somehow an undercover believer!

He knows I’m not.

And doesn’t care.
