Historian Bart Ehrmann has a new book, How Jesus Became God.
As a former Christian Minister I appreciate Ehrmann’s statement that he was once concerned about how God became human, but now he’s interested in the opposite.
As my NPR comment says, I still admire the Human Being of Nazareth (without worship).
Though we aren’t really sure what he actually said, the message of peace has sustainability.
I think believers and non-believers can all apply some of his teachings of justice, compassion and such.
It takes no belief in miracles or resurrections, and no deification or anthropomorphism to practice the path of wisdom.
